Bishop Sewerios, born in Syria, became a monk in 1985. Just a year later he was ordained as a priest. Nevertheless, already at a young age he felt it was his mission "to take everybody to our God, to worship him and to listen to his advises and the 10 commandments and to act according to it."
He said "I see it very important that parents look after the religious and scientific education of their kids. This will help the schools, churches, society and country at least 50%".
Since 1996 Archbishop Sewerios is the head of the syrian orthodox church in Jerusalem and representant of the Assyrian Church of the east.
