CARE ABOUT CHILDREN!

JUAN DIEGO FLÓREZ is one of the most outstanding opera singers of our time. He is internationally celebrated as maybe the most exquisite Rossini-Tenor that ever existed.
Born in Lima, Peru, in 1973 he grew up in a catholic environment that made him sensitive to this day not only to music but also to those around him, who are less fortunate.

 
When asked about his "message to the world" he instantly said with clarity "the children! It´s about the children. Our future, the environment, .... it´s not only our own children but all children! Children are important. Care for them. Look after them. Especially the poor children. Children are our life. They are what comes and what remains."

Looking at Juan Diego´s life, one can see how he lives his message. As a family father, he has two children with his german wife and actress Julia Trappe. But that´s not where his love and care for children stops. Impressed by "el sistema" (from Abreu in Venezuela) he wanted to do something for the children and future of his own country. Thus he founded ‘Sinfonía por el Perú’. Through this foundation he supports children and young people with a musical education which accompanies their personal development. An aim which is especially impressive as most of them come from a difficult family background and thus have a great chance for a better future.
