CONCENTRATE ON HAPPINESS & LOVE

ILDEBRANDO D´ARCANGELO is a world renown bass & bariton - opera singer who sings at the most famous opera places and classical music festivals of the world.

Born in Pescara, Italy on December 14, 1969, Ildebrando d´Arcangelo grew up with a father who was so dedicated to music that even at his birth his father already gave him this special name and introduced him to the world of music by playing Mendelsohn. The sounding name means nothing less than "the sword of the archangel". With such a name and a father so full of vision for his son, it didn´t take long, and Ildebrando was learning the piano.
While others where playing with friends, he sat down up to 10 hours a day to practice the piano, even if he was only 13.  Today Ildebrando is grateful and assures without his father, he wouldn´t be where he is now.

Mozart is one of his greatest sources of inspiration and admiration. If Mozart would live today, Ildebrando even mentioned he´d be honored to be the servant of this great master, Mozart.
Singing "Don Giovanni" in Salzburg, the so called "city of Mozart", at one of the most renown music festivals in the world, belongs to one of his great moments in life.

"MY RELIGION IS LOVE" says Ildebrando d´Arcangelo, with his feet on the ground and his head in the air.

"It´s been just two days ago, that Robin Williams died, he meant so much to me and taught us so much. And now he is dead. See, money and fame is nothing if you are not happy. Happiness is important. Concentrate on happiness. And love. That´s what counts"  - with teary eyes the opera singer stopped for a moment and continued "Carpe Diem! - I wish Robin Williams would have watched his own film more often, he would still be alife now". These were the humble words of Ildebrando, when I interviewed him right after his great performance as the "Don Giovanni"-singer at the Salzburg Festival, 2014.

When asked about his family life, he mentioned, he is divorced but has a daughter. With a sigh he uttered, "she is 18 now and is sings pop music". After a little pause with the gaze of the loving yet sorrowful father he added with a doubting smile  "I try to get her away from that".
