ORANGE ALTERNATIVE!
We must get in touch with the world and perceive it. It ist neccessary to use our freedom to change the world in a positive way. It´s about hat we are alive. It´s about acting. It´s about supporting others and ourselves. It´s about showing solidarity with those that are not free. Actually it´s about helping them, to become free.
Major Waldemar Fydrych, at age 56, Buddhist, partnership, from Warsaw, Poland.
Major Waldemar Fydrych is an acting artist. An unconventional street performer. A writer and painter. But more then that, he is known as the founder of "the Orange Alternative", a movement that has evolved in the times of communism in Poland. His unpredictable creative ideas were put into action at street happenings for years. By his oposers he was seen as an enemy because of his "being out of the norm". His continuous nonviolent actions called upon the attention of more and more people. In times were everything that was against the regime, was forbidden, he sought for new and unconventional ways to free the people from their seemingly grey environment. Thus the "orange alternative" evolved. Paintings of dwarfs with slogans that seemed like mere nonsense magnetized more and more people that started to follow his "dwarf movement". "Freedom for the dwarfs" was one of the quotations. Once when the police came in times of the iron curtain, he began throwing flowers at them. Something that seems ridiculous. Funny. Stupid. With no meaning. Crazy. Or even touching? How can you hurt someone when you throw flowers? What happens if you throw love around you instead of hatred? Actions like these finally helped bring about the fall of communism in 1989 and the rising of democracy.
Until today Major is active around the world and wants us to involve in this kind of humorous nonviolent actions. For freedom and peace.
