Abbot Ambros EBHART "having a hotline to God" Monastery of Kremsmünster, Austria
Ambros Ebhart was born in 1952. As a young man he already felt the call call of God, studied Theology in Salzburg, entered the catholic monastic order of the benedictines at the Abbey of Kremsünster and was ordained as a priest in 1977. As a pastor and priest he works for several parishes in the area. Since 2007 he is Abbot of Kremsmünster.
To know how to distinguish and act rightly, he feels it´s important to be aware of Goods guidance. The short form of his advice:
* be still infront of God, concentrate on him, look at him and let your self be looked at from God
* read the Holy Scripture to understand Gods will
* the Spirit of God leads you through inner intuition, he will lead me into the right direction if I am praying to be full of belief, hope and love
* God leads through other persons. "Christ within your brother is stronger then Christ within yourself"(Dietrich Bonhoeffer), be sensitive to the world around you and listen how and through whom God talks to you.
* God leads through incidents and circumstances, this can change my attitude and mode of thinking if I am walking through the world with open eyes
* patience. God´s spirit doesn´t work "on command", he freely blows where he wants. So it continuously needs the turning towards God with the pledge "Lord, make me open for the guidance through your Spirit".
